An American Patriot's Journey

Sharing Experiences and Offering Guidance; Supporting Others In Finding Their “American Redoubt”.

About An American Patriot’s Journey

Have you ever sensed something was amiss, feeling out of place in very familiar surroundings? My father observed profound changes in his final years, highlighting a shift in the pace and nature of life in our home state; for the worse. In response, my wife and I contemplated our future, seeking changes to align with our desire for a new place to call our home. As a result “An American Patriot’s Journey” was conceived.

The Desire for a Shift

We began with a critical look at our state’s governance. It showed financial mismanagement and high taxes. There were sanctuary policies and radical ideologies. Corruption was evident, as was a complete disregard for the Second Amendment. Our desire for a shift was clear. We sought an environment matching our values. We wanted to leave the chaos of our state and find tranquility and security for our retirement.

Embarking on this path, we realized our severe knowledge gaps and misconceptions. Through research and engagement, we began to navigate the sometimes overwhelming landscape of relocation. Our goal was a more secluded haven, a “Redoubt,” where we could live freely, according to our beliefs. Sadly, we found no all-inclusive guide for our situation.

Visiting, Understanding and Navigating

Despite the lack of a comprehensive handbook, we persevered, gathering insights to embark on our quest. Visiting potential homes, understanding different locales, and navigating new regulations were part of the steep learning curve. Don’t ever forget about all the new and sometimes unexpected laws that vary from state to state. Our efforts led us to a less populated, more congenial state—a stark contrast to our previous home.

Reflecting on our interstate relocation, I recognized the potential to assist others in a similar transition, inspired by the significant number of interstate moves in 2022 (According to the U.S. Census Bureau, approximately 8.2 million people moved to a different state in 2022). Through “An American Patriot’s Journey” the goal is to share experiences and offer guidance, supporting others in finding their “American Redoubt”.
